A Sulcata Tortoise from Africa

My name is Delilah.
I am a Sulcata Tortoise.
My scientific name is Gelchelone Sulcata.

When I was small, you could have held me in your hand, but when I grow up I might weigh 200 pounds! Right now I am 3 years old and weigh about 9 pounds.

Sulcata Tortoises live in Africa, just south of the great Sahara Desert. It is dry and hot almost all of the time. We do not hibernate. We just wander around and eat all the grass and shrubs we can find so we will grow very big!
